Learning a foreign language in 16 lessons in possible! Polyglot is an intellectual reality show, a unique format created by linguist Dmitry Petrov designed for expedited study of foreign languages. Dmitry Petrov is a Russian polyglot, a synchronised interpreter and a creator of a unique method of learning languages. That is the person who speaks approximately 50 languages and who will teach a goup of 8 people. Every season is dedicated to learning one language: English, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Hindi/Urdu and Portuguese.
The majority of participants are well-known media personalities (actors, directors, writers, poets, art historians and TV hosts) who either do not speak any foreign languages or have vague memories from the school programme. The goal of each participant is to learn to communicate in a new language quickly and efficiently. After the first couple of lessons they start speaking to each other and understanding simple phrases!
Programmes that aired to date include English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
