The action starts in Mozart's hometown Salzburg, Austria, where his mentor dies. Life starts to challenge the young man. The new governor is a strict and regimental man who does not understand Mozart's music and does not take his temper and impudence. He decides to leave the town together with his mother and to look for a better future in the european capitals (Vienna, Paris). There he finds where to put his talent to work, composes his best pieces of art and meets love. But a genius is always surrounded by jealousy and back-door games. His duty to his family bring to a tragic end.
The original french musical has been one of the most successful shows: over 1 200 000 tickets sold, many music awards, sellouts all over Europe, diamond certificate (over 750 000 sold copies). The famous show will now be seen by the russian auidence: the local version of Mozarts story will be introduced to the spectators on March 17-28 in Moscow Crocus City Hall (85 000 seats, 15 shows).
The production of the russian version started in 2013 year end. The lyrics were adapted by Russia's Honoured artist Ilya Reznik. Salieri's role will be played by Florent Mothe, french singer, actor and musician, who performed also in the original version. The choreography will be set by the legendary British choreographer Paul Domaine who worked with Cher, George Michael, Tina Turner, Kylie Minogue The Voice, X-factor and the russian shows Big Dance and Clash of the Choirs. Alexey Frandetti is the director of the russian version of Mozart.
